Everything after that is equipment. I write, perform and produce all of it, which means when a project needs a score I don’t go shopping for one.

The sound

A sound identity is a system, not a single jingle. Your brand needs one voice that can get loud or stay quiet without ever stopping sounding like itself. Scroll through the Lifted Lab to hear that range in mood, vibe and energy. Most of these were written for records rather than for sale, so they are here as examples of what one style can do, and all of them are available for sync.

One studio, one ear, and real range. Anything marked for sale can be bought outright; everything else is licensed by use.

One Room

Ableton is where I work fastest. I have spent years in Pro Tools and Cubase too, and some time in larger rooms, so handing me an unfamiliar setup is not a problem. Writing, performing and producing happen in the same place, which keeps the turnaround short.

Mixing and Mastering

Both in house, on my own records and on other people’s. A score that arrives already mixed and mastered is one less vendor and one less round of notes.

Sound Design

Across whole albums and cut to individual scenes. Some foley too, recorded rather than pulled from a library when the shot needs something specific.

What You Get

Split into stems, delivered as WAV and MP3 so nobody has to move large files to pass a part to a bandmate. Everything lands in a shared drive you have access to, foldered by mixes, works in progress, instrumentals and masters. Being organised is not the interesting part of this job, but it is the part that saves you a week.

Rates

I produce, mix and master out of the Lifted Lab. Boom bap with West Coast in the bones, but the mixing and mastering side is genre agnostic and always has been.

Over a hundred registered works. Ten solo albums, and five more made as a duo or inside a group, produced and mixed by me. Three albums and three EPs produced for other artists, around twenty more tracks across other people’s records, and another four albums worth that never came out.

Sole writer and composer on the solo catalogue, which matters more than it sounds like it does: if you want something from it for a film or an ad, one signature clears it.

Most recently: a full album for Crown Emcees out of Victoria, features including Spice 1, produced and mixed here, mastered by Big Heat.

50 percent to start, balance on delivery. Two rounds of revisions on everything. Rush turnaround plus 25 percent. Unlabelled or unprepped stems get cleaned up at the hourly rate, and I’ll tell you the number before I start.

No leasing. Exclusive only. A beat that’s been sold to forty people is not worth building a release on, and it makes the track useless for sync later.

Licence Direct, No Publisher

Every track in the catalogue is cleared by one signature. Nobody else wrote on it, nobody else owns a piece of it, and there is no library taking a cut or a queue to sit in.
