The studio
Lifted Productions has been a registered Canadian business since 2005. Twenty years of design work, and music.
Most studios hand the sound off to someone else. I don’t. The logo, the illustration, the packaging, the score and the mix come from one room, which is why the look and the sound end up agreeing with each other instead of being stitched together after the fact.
Before this was full time, I spent years as a Red Seal sheet metal fabricator, reading shop drawings and building things that had to fit the first time. That habit did not go away when I switched to design.

Why the work looks like this
I grew up in the bush outside Victoria. Most of what I make still comes back to that. Beats that start on a walk, illustrations of animals that actually live here, backgrounds built by hand out of photographs I took myself rather than generated from a prompt.
My son works alongside me on a lot of it. Especially on kid related projects he has ideas and approvals. He has veto power over anything of his that gets published, and he uses it. He daily reminds me the best art comes from play, exploration, and no fear for the strange.
